History of Halloween and More
Halloween is a holiday observed in the Wesstern world. Originating as a Pagan festival among the Celts of Ireland and Great Britian. In the nineteenth century immigrants from the UK brought the tradition of Halloween or Hallowe'en to North America and soon after it became part of the New World's traditions. Halloween the Movie
Perhaps almost as important to my generation as the day of Halloween is the movie by writer John Carpenter, Halloween. For many of us, the theme song to this movie conjures up all kinds of scary thoughts and memories. While the Friday the 13th movies were scary, the Halloween movies were in a league of their own. Released in 1978, days before the actual night of Halloween, the original Halloween movie starred Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence among others. For those of you who have not seen the movie, it is something that everyone should experience. I won't ruin it here for you, just be sure you watch it in the daytime. :)
